Sunoco Gas - complaint  

Sunoco Gas

I went to pay with my credit card outside at the pump. My card wouldn't work so I went inside to see what the problem was. My card would not work inside either. I called my bank and it was a problem on the gas stations side not with my bank.

I asked the owner of the store if I could go to another ATM to get money out since mine was not able to work with them. The owner of the store must have had a really bad day because he said he was going to call the police. Granted I asked him if he would like to call the bank himself to verify that I had the funds to pay. I also said that I would leave my ID there when I left so that he knew I would come back! You need your ID for everything don’t you? That is what I thought!

Anyway he told me that I either have someone bring the money to me or he would be calling the police. I almost died! I had to call my sister and have her bring down the money and then pay her back because some stupid clerk had an attitude problem and wouldn’t let me leave and come back!

Why would I try to get gas on a card that I didn’t think worked? My car needed gas! I wouldn’t pull up and act like I needed gas unless I really did. Time is to very precious! Please, what he was suggesting that I was doing was a complete waste of my time. I have people to see and things to do and places to go. I don’t have time to pull off a scam at Sunoco or any other business for that matter! I am a law abiding citizen and was very insulted when this happened.

I went to the bank after that just to check and see if there was something wrong with my card. Apparently something on the monogram part of my card (right bottom side of the front card) was starting to wear away and that is why the card wasn’t working and not allowing the machine to read the card. You believe it!!! A little computer technical error caused all that! Imaging if I was an 80 year old woman. He would have called the cops on her too!

Can you believe it? That is so embarrassing! I have never had a problem with Sunoco in my life. I actually prefer them which is why I went there in the first place. I am very upset with this in particular Sunoco and plan to write a letter to the CEO of the company. At least get on the phone with my bank if I am allowing you to verify that I have funds available! Don’t treat me like a criminal before you know whats going on!

Has anyone else experienced this type of service from Sunoco in Pittsburgh PA or any other location???
